22 Weeks!

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her  body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily. -babycenter.com              Zack and I are REALLY excited because we got our baby bedding in today , and our baby furniture is due in another week or so! I can't wait to paint now and get everything into place , so that all we need to do is just put P.K. in the crib when she gets home. ; ) I pulled out the mobile for her crib the other night and played it. I had a moment where I couldn't believe me and Zack are soon to be parents. I could not have felt MORE proud or excited and ready to meet her.
No we haven't made any FOR SURE name choice, but I know Zack really likes one more then the other so I am trying it on for size! Our little one is definitely getting a lot more active in mommy's stomach now. It's pretty funny because I feel like she wakes up and is ready to get rolling late at night! Maybe she is just picking up on Mommy and Daddy's schedule. LOL
This past Sunday I walked in the Swedish Day's parade for the salon I work at! It has been a long time since I walked in a parade so I was excited to throw candy and so forth. What is this world coming too when you can't hand out candy at a parade! It was still a good time and me and baby got are workout on! LOL. My amazing husband waved at us on the side lines in like 100 degree temp and 100% humidity! Thanks babe.

Jason, Annie, and Bel took us to "Benfest' at Jason's work. We had such a great time! We got to see a great Beatles tribute band and see where Jason works! It was a beautiful night outside and I can't imagine spending it any other way!

Boo Bel with her mommy and Daddy!

Uncle Zack Chasing after our God Daughter!
Thank you again Leppin Family for such a fun night!

For an Update: Thank you to all who are keeping us in your prayers with Poppy, they are REALLY helping. He is now on the up swing. The meds he was on have either been lowered by a bit or he is off of them completely. He was breathing on his own without ventilator help for a little bit the other night also. He is doing better but we still have a battle in front of us. So again I continue to ask for prayers of health and peace for our Poppy.

21 Weeks. The Bad, The Good, and The not so Bad

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now. - from babycenter.com   Baby is healthy and kicking! The big thing I have noticed lately is that my appetite has doubled!LOL. Throughout the first half of my pregnancy I didn't really feel like I ate all that different. Now I know why women say " I am eating for two!". Zack's mom ordered us our baby bedding set AND Zack finished the construction he wanted to do in the nursery , so we are REALLY excited now to paint and play. Here is a peek of what are bedding looks like:

I feel like I have really slacked on getting our Blog updated but then I realized it has only been about a week but I feel like I have to fill you in on a months worth. Get ready.
The bad: Poppy, Zack's grandfather, had had his major surgery and got through great. We received a call this past weekend that his recovery was not going well and that he was being transported back down to Madison hospital ( where he had his surgery) to be taken care of. Zack drove me, cuz Holly, and cuz Jenny ( literally Zack was locked in small quarters with 3 pregnant women .LOL) to meet up with Zack's mom , Aunts, and Uncle to see Poppy. We were told he is a very sick man and he has an infection.                    The Good:  Happy Father's Day to my "Fasha", My hubby Zack (soon to be father) and Jason! You guys are all great men. Father's Day is always bittersweet for Zack because he lost his father very young. Zack went to visit his dad at the cemetery in the morning and then spent the day with his father-in-law for the day. Zack has grown very close with my Dad and for me that is amazing because they are my two favorite men in the whole world! We enjoyed a Cougars game with the Davis clan and then went back to mom and dad's for swimming. Zack and I had an awesome time at the Cougars game. We forgot how much fun it was, and want to make it a regular occurrence now!
The not so bad: Poppy is still in Madison at the hospital as I type this right now and is still a sick man. BUT he is making baby steps to better health. He was on 100% help with ventilator, now with last update, he is down to 60% help with ventilator, etc. The doc's are telling us they are taking small baby steps to not shock his system but they are slowly weening medicines, etc. Please keep Poppy and Zack's family in your prayers. I ask for prayers of health and peace.

The Kerruish Clan is adding a .............

Gorgeous Baby Girl!
Well friends and family I would have to say all of our feelings, guesses, and baby blog poll was wrong!
Because Zack and I kept hearing the whole time I was pregnant " you look like you are carrying a boy", the heart rate was on track, and I even felt in the beginning like I was having a boy. We all assumed we were having a boy! We were so excited to hear our little peanut is healthy and measures well in every area, but I think we both were in shock when the ultrasound tech told us it was a little girl. We have never been happier though. Zack and I are so excited because by this time we haven't decided on any names BUT we definitely had a lot more girl names in the works. I think it might of been God's little way of letting us know what our miracle  was. LOL. Our peanut was not giving " The Goods" up though for quit some time. We were all thinking we might of had to come home not knowing that it was a she, but at the last minute she let us know. Ultrasound tech said it's good for daddy ," He can put the shotgun away" because she is very bashful and likes to hide herself! LOL!!
Now I feel a big push to go go go! Very excited to lock down the bedding I like, paint, etc.
So excited to know that we need to get a  newborn Bear's CHEER LEADING  outfit this season! She will be due in Mommy's favorite season of the year and you never know the Bear's could go all the way this year! LOL! I know I know , now I am just pushing it. Thank you for all the warm wishes and love from all our family and friends!
Watch out Daddy I have a feeling she will have you wrapped around her finger!

20 Weeks (HALF WAY) and my Official Birthday!

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system.
It is officially my birthday today! I was able to enjoy my last day off from a mini vacation with my husband, because he had a rain day from work. Today consisted of sleeping in finally, My mother-in-law taking me out for a really good birthday lunch, coming back home for a nap LOL ( how did that happen), and a surprise visit from my sister and best niece in the world! It has been a really nice day of reading and relaxing. Although I feel real guilty because Zack has been working on the nursery all day today while I have been "reading and relaxing". That's what birthday are for.LOL Zack replaced the window in our nursery, throwing up wainscoting and beautiful trim, AND replaced closet doors. We are still waiting for our furniture to come in and after tomorrow we will decide on bedding and paint colors. I am getting really excited and so is Zack! The "BIG NEWS" comes tomorrow..................

Birthday Fun

Happy BBQ birthday! My parents had a birthday dinner for me this weekend. I got to pick my dinner (chicken on the grill and mom's famous summer spaghetti). Mom , Dad , Annie, Jason and Bel (my little fig newton) all gave me a great 26th birthday! Mom and Dad got me more preggo clothes because I am now growing out of my pants. I love clothes and fashion so it is fun to feel pregnant AND in style. Annie, Jason, and Bel gave me a couple of new shirts AND my first diaper bag! A Kate Spade diaper bag! It is AMAZING and I love it. Needless to say I was definitely spoiled this birthday. I can't thank my family enough for the great food, company, and gifts. I love all you guys mucho! thank you thank you thank you.
For all of you who have kept Poppy (Zack's grandfather) on your prayer list we all thank you. Poppy went into surgery this past Friday and did very well. The doctors went into the esophagus to remove cancer and while they were in they realized that the tumor was bigger then they realized and some was attached to his heart. The doctors were luckily able to remove everything and we were told Poppy looked great after surgery. The very next day he was already out of bed taking a small walk in the hospital. He is a trooper and an amazing man. Lets all keep praying for a great and swift recovery. We love you Poppy!

19 Weeks

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
I have been feeling our little ones kicks or "flutters" for a bit now , but now there was a new development for daddy. Last night Zack had the palm of his hand rested on my belly and he felt the baby kicking. It was so much fun for the both of us we just sat and giggled to each other for a good 10 minutes! Daddy is so proud  he has already said he hopes he can feel the baby tonight also. For me, I finally got myself back to the gym today. Just a real low key workout but it is amazing what it does  for me mentally as well as physically. I know they always say that you will feel better if you work out regularly, but for me it is so true. It is great to get the extra energy and stress out. I told my hubby I think one of the hardest things for me through this pregnancy is not being able to be as physical as I have always been. I should live up the fact that it is the one time in my life I can say I shouldn't do that or that or that or that because "I am pregnant". LOL! I just don't have it in me. Don't worry my friends I only do what the doc says I am able to do. Like I said I am close to half way through my pregnancy and finally getting the swing of things! We are officially on the countdown to our 20 week appointment! More next Tuesday...... boy or girl?

We are getting closer to our 20 week ultrasound which will hopefully let us know what we are having! Zack is sooooo excited. He tell me the countdown everyday! What do you think we are having? don't forget to put your vote in on my poll on the side! I will be interested to see if we are all right?!

18 Weeks

Head to rump, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, although he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Zack and I are on our countdown to see if we are having a boy or girl! I really hope our little one shows us at our 20 week appointment! Over the Memorial Day weekend my mom brought home the Doppler ( which is the machine they use to hear the baby's heartbeat). One of the pluses of having a nurse as a mother, thanks mama! Zack and I got to show our family the sound of our baby's heartbeat ( always very strong)! It is so fun hearing it! My mom and I laughed because when she was looking for the baby you could hear it swimming around my belly A LOT! It was trying to play hide and seek, and be a little stinker for grandma already! LOL.
