Shopping, Shopping, Shopping!

Zack and I went out last Sunday and ordered our Nursery furniture. We got it through a place called Cribs to College, and they were awesome! Great furniture at low prices, AND they price match. I would definitely recommend the store. We love our furniture we got. We decided on a convertible crib, so that our sweet pea can grow into it all the way till a full bed. The picture of the dresser/ changing table is the exact same style we bought , but we decided to get a larger one ( a double dresser). And last but not least we got a side table also. No glider yet! We plan on getting that a little later! I am excited because now that we have the furniture ordered its all seeming more real!  We are ready to roll baby! Mom and Dad loves you!

17 Weeks!

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
We have a little Turnip! I am so excited because I am pretty sure I am feeling our little ones first little fluttering. It is hard to tell because it feels like almost like popcorn! Zack says he can't wait till he can FEEL it . I said we got a while to go. The way the doc told us our little one was kicking at our 16 week appt, I wouldn't be surprised if my "popcorn' was for sure my first" flutters".

16 WEEKS

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length . Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too.
Zack and I had our 16 week doctors appointment today. As we were listening to the heart beat the doc told me that the baby kicked twice. She also said that she could bet that I would be feeling our little one very soon , or at least by the time we have our next visit! Our doctor said we have a very strong healthy baby, and that mommy is also. Our baby's heartbeat has been in the 170's ( wives tales say it is a girl) and this time around our baby was in the 140's( wives tales say it is a boy). I just think our little one is messing around with mommy and daddy and keeping us on our toes until we officially find out. When I first found out we were pregnant I could swear that we were having a boy, but now I have no strong feeling either way.We are so excited ! We will get to find out a day after my birthday in June, so the countdown is on! It will be a great birthday present. I give props to moms of the world that are patient enough to wait for the surprise at birth. I just can't wait!!!!! I am glad to see that my baby bump is popping and that I don't look like i am carrying a beer belly around anymore! LOL . Big news in June!

Jack of all Trades!

                                               BEFORE
AFTER

Like I have mentioned before we have come up with a long list of things we want to do before baby comes! One of those projects was bringing our fireplace up to THIS decade! Zack had a couple rain days at work, printed out a picture off the Internet of a fireplace that we liked, and started going to town. Within 72 hours I had an amazing fireplace! I am SO lucky I am married to a " Jack of all trades" besides a loving man! Thanks hunny. I have a feeling weather we have a boy or a girl Zack will teach our little one as soon as he can how to build things. Fun, fun, fun! Still a few hings more on the "Honey Do List" before we get to have fun in making the nursery.

15 WEEKS!

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. (baby center)
I am excited to go to the doc office next week. Zack was not able to come for our 12 week appt, so he is excited to go this time and hear the baby's heartbeat. Plus I love when my hubby is there with me. A. He always makes me laugh when we are waiting for an hour or so for our scheduled appt. lol and B. I love seeing his face light up when we get news about the baby. I know he is going to be just as amazed as I was about hearing the heartbeat. Zack is a trooper and has started our To Do list before the baby comes. He is resurfacing the fireplace and it looks amazing so far. More after our doc appt. next week!

14 WEEKS

Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches -- about the size of a lemon -- and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
So happy I am at  the second trimester! I was trying to think the other day if I have felt like I have had any real strong cravings. I haven't had a Strong craving for any one certain thing. I have spent a week eating nothing but cereal followed by a week of just wanting to eat a lot PB&J sandwiches, and so forth. I will say anybody that knows me knows that I have always been able to turn down sweets. I never really went for them until now. Now I really like to at least have one piece of chocolate a day. I don't know how much of that is for the actual sweet or my body missing all the caffeine it used to get, LOL. Either or I am glad I have a little lemon now and can't believe how fast our little one is growing.

A trip to see our Poppy

Zack and I took a short trip up to Wisconsin to check up on Poppy. Poppy was scheduled for a surgery in Madison, Wisconsin to try to remove the cancer that they had found in his Esophagus. Unfortunately they found that his heart rate is high and will now make him go thru and pass a stress test before he will be cleared for surgery. We decided it was time to get up there to visit him. Maybe hoping to lift his spirits a bit and let him know we love him with all our hearts! I was very excited because not only did we get to visit Poppy, Eric, Beth, and Jacob. I finally got to visit Poppy's house in Winneconne and Eric, Beth, and Jacob's in Omro, WI. Poppy still seems in high spirits and is determined to get the surgery done and recover as fast as he can.  Please keep him and our family in your prayers. Many thanks to Eric and Beth for letting Zack and I crash at your house, and we can't wait to make it up again. As a side note: Happy Birthday Brosif! I hope you had a great birthday weekend Nick. your little niece or nephew can't wait to meet you!
