Lucy Kathleen Leppin, 1.31.2012

Lucy Kathleen Leppin was born on January 31,2012 at 8.11am. She weighed in at 6 lb 11 oz and was 20.5 inches long. My sister had a c-section with my Boo Bel and she ended up having another with Miss "LuLu". Annie you are amazing! The Leppin family as well as my parents and I with Bel and Payton all waited in the waiting room patiently to see what we have grown to call "Toodles". Toodles is the what Isabel had named the baby through Annie's pregnancy. When we all got to finally see Annie , Jason, and sweet LuLu we were so overjoyed and excited. LuLu is a sweet little nugget. Loves being nestled in with her mommy and looks like a little Bel minny me. We are so glad labor and delivery went well for my sweet sister and praise god that we have been blessed with another sweet baby girl.....
Super excited to meet Lucy Kathleen

as well as everyone else in the family : )

Welcome to the world Lucy Kathleen Leppin

Sweet girl

P.K. at 15

That smile describes my Payton bug. She is a happy girl. We went to her 15 month doctors visit and she weighed in at 27 lb 2oz and is 31 3/4 inches tall! She is in the 95th % and unfortunately had to get 2 more vaccines. Our little peanut was also diagnosed with her very first ear infection which you would have never known because she never let on to one at all. I love this little girl with all my heart! She has a mouth full of teeth and more are still coming I can't even keep up anymore! Her vocabulary is getting so much bigger as well as her personality! She is such a cuddle bug and loves sitting on laps to read books and play with puzzles.Everyday I feel she comes out with something new. One thing still stands....... this girl has got the moves. She LOVES having dance party and shaking her body and clapping. We have started a new class through the park district called Tot Rock. She had so much fun at our first class singing and dancing to the itsy bitsy spider. She is my daughter so I am bias but everybody says how smart she is which I would have to agree. It seems you show her something once and she picks it up right away. Payton's new fun thing to do is to spin herself in circles in the middle of the room while singing jibber jabber until she makes herself dizzy and falls down. She is sunny most of the time but has hit the age were she is starting to tell us when she wants her way or is not happy about something. I don't know how well of disciplinarians Zack and I are becoming though. One night at the dinner table, while eating, Payton decided she wanted to continuously throw her food on the floor. Zack and I took turns reprimanding her. Finally we both lost a little patience and sternly said to her "NO" a little louder. She gave us both an evil grin and did it again! Zack and I looked at each other and could not help but laugh which then she thought was hilarious too. So needless to say that night was a wash : ). Payton has learned to paint and draw on the chalk board at "YaYa and PaPa's" house. Like I said she is just learning and picking up something new all the time. If you take a picture of her now and tell her to smile and say "cheese" she will do just that. Payton's schedule is still staying strong. She sleeps 12 hours through the night and takes one nap during the day for anywhere between 2.5-3.5 hours. She absolutely LOVES hanging out with her cousin Bel. These two girls just laugh, sing, and run around together. When my new niece Lucy comes out she better watch out because P.K. and Bel are gonna run circles around her.
Our sweetie painting for the first time saying "Cheese"! The next Picasso

Payton's First Haircut!

So I am not sure if you would call it a true haircut but in her Mommy's eyes it was! A few days before her 15 month birthday I broke down and had to pull out my shears. P.K. 's hair is really starting to fill in thicker and get long in the back although the sideburns are still pretty sparse. I like to call it a Mohawk Mullet that she was rocking. And let me say only a sweet face like that could rock THAT style : ). Payton took a bath and Daddy and I were getting her ready for bed. Zack was brushing her hair and I realized she truly had a tale going on. So while daddy had her on his lap and combed her hair i took her first baby curl off the back. Such a sweet moment. Just another realization that our baby is growing up...

Here is to Another Year!

I mean really? Could she be ANY cuter?! I do not think so. Ah......2011. I have to so I am glad to see you leave due to some of the trouble you gave me.  Health issues, gallbladder surgery, cancer scare, etc. But you know what? I am glad and blessed that I had this past year with our health ups and downs. It created MORE of an already laid foundation of true faith. Zack ,Payton, and I have been so touched by god this past year we cannot be grateful enough! With a new year to come of ups and downs our small little family is ready to take our next steps. We might see a house in the future, or who knows what else! All I know is whatever happens....it is in God's hands and we will have faith that it is right!

Zack and I went out to a mommy /daddy dinner and my parents, the Leppins, and the Hansens took payton to a balloon drop at Maretti's. She has TONS of fun and from what we heard she continued to make a bee line to the dance floor. She loves "Dance Parties". We missed our boo that night but she had tons of fun with Yaya and Papa on an overnight! Happy New Year everyone! Lets get crazy in 2012!

Santa Claus CAME To Town

Merry Christmas! We had such amazing Christmas this year. First let me say how grateful we are to our lord and savior that he blessed us with our sweet angel Payton. She is seriously the light in our hearts and lives. Payton was so much fun this year for Christmas because she has started to really get into it. She like ripping the wrapping paper of gifts and running wild around the houses of holiday get togethers! We always traditionally go to my families house on Christmas eve and my mom has a BIG open house filled with fun , food, and laughter! I brought my chocolate fountain over this year which was  huge hit especially with my niecy poo Bel.

"Night Night Time"

We all went home to "Night Night" and to get ready for Santa to come down the chimney. Payton woke up the next morning to her stack of  gifts at the fireplace walked out and started screaming! She was so excited and ,yes, maybe a little overwhelmed. We had our morning together on Christmas as a family and then Zack's mom and brother joined us for a brunch. Diane and Nick showed up with more gifts for Payton, what a spoiled little girl. We relaxed and then turned our house into an open house and early dinner where I served Christmas ham, etc. My mom and the Leppins' ended up showing up later as well. It was a really nice relaxing day for us because we did not leave the house and Payton got to play with all her toys when she opened them. Let me remind all of us that Christmas is not about gifts but the birth of Jesus Christ. And what a wonderful birthday it is! When we all tend to get wrapped up in the holiday craziness remember that bright star in the sky leading us to our savior. Zack and I have been truly been blessed and may your family as well. Merry Christmas!

Holiday fun and a Few Days shy of 14 months

I seriously don't think our peanut could be any cuter! Have you seen anything like it?! Diane bought her this snowsuit for her first birthday so she would be ready for the snow and Zack and I picked up the matching hat! That "Hannah Anderson" is to DIE for. We got ALL bundled up and went with both grandmas and the Leppin's to take a walk down the holiday street in our neighborhood. This street is amazing. We did go a little early so not all the houses were lit up but you still get the effect. I always laugh because Payton is definitely the daughter of an electrician. Whenever she shes big sparkly lights she say "ooooooo"! it doesn't have to be Christmas lights ... it could be a chandelier, etc. This girl thinks lights are so fun!
Cousins all decked out! YaYa got them blinking Christmas light necklaces. They both LOVED them

The Leppin's

Davis girls!

Payton is just a few day shy of 14 months which just absolutely amazes me as well as the milestones she has accomplished. She has the BEST personality.Although we have gotten to see a little here and there of what you would call the beginnings of tantrums. Even with her mini tantrums she is the sweetest funniest toddler already. We have already talked about what a walker she is and now she is running. She learned at "Aunt NaNa's" house what stairs are and how to climb up them. Oh boy. Why did we teach her that, lol? She loves climbing and now that she realized that there is something to climb everybody watch out and put your baby gates up! Another physical milestone that she is slowly making is eating with her own spoon. I scoop it up. Hand it to her and she scoops whatever she is eating right into her mouth. Its wild to see this Independence when she still a baby to me in my mind.Payton is off bottles except her bedtime bottle which we will get serious about at 14 months. i have slowly been watering the bottle down to make her not like it so much anymore. If I must admit she probably would be fine without it but I selfishly sad to give it up because no bottles means a true toddler. Which she is anyways it's just hard for mommy to come to the realization : (. Payton has understood A LOT of language for a while now but she is talking and replying a lot more now. You ask her what a kitty, lion, pig, etc. says and she will reply with the correct sound. She is starting to say "YaYa" and "Nana" now. She says "Papa" and has turned grandma Kerruish into "Ma". All these nicknames have come from us looking at pictures and doing call and repeat. Payton is also starting to say dog and kitty. She will in her good time say "Hi" and "Bye". She like to play telephone and hold the phone up to her ear and say "HIIIIIIIIIIIII".She is a happy go lucky kid. Super goofy. She has recently decided that she wants to try to do handstands. Where she got this.... I have no idea. Although she would make her mommy proud being a born gymnast ,lol. She will start in a tripod and the literally try to kick her leg up. It is fun to have my little cuddlier back. We lost her for a bit but she loves now to run into your arms. I caught her the other day melting my heart. I was sitting on the couch and she walked right over, rubbed my leg, and put her head in my lap. So sweet. Payton's favorite activities right now are for you to chase after her saying "I'm gonna get you , I'm gonna get you" and reading her books over and over again. I can't even wait to see what she does next. I Love watching her and seeing how her brain works. We love you Payton.... You are the best thing that happened to mommy and daddy!

X-mas Pics!

Yup! Its that time of the year ....... time to get your holiday pics for your Christmas cards. We went ahead and made a shoot with our awesome photographer for a Payton's 1 year pictures as well as our holiday pictures. We ended up having back to back shoots wit the Leppin's which was great because we were able to get this shot for my parents. Yes literally ONE shot but at least everyone is looking ; ). This was the day Payton decided to REALLY show off her walking skills. Up to this point November 1st Payton had taken 4-5 wobbly steps and then would sit. She loves having photo shoots so while we were having our pictures taken she decided she really wanted to get to Julie;'s camera. She walked from one side of the bridge all the way across to the other. " Aunt NaNa" saw this and was so super excited she crouched down for Payton and Payton literally started running to her. I think all of our screaming with joy got her excited and gave her courage. You can see our faces in most of these pictures just so astounded and excited by the milestone!
