Lets go see the Monkeys!

Zack and I got a membership to Brookfield Zoo this year because we plan on taking lots of trips there with Payton. We took her for her first time on a day that ended up being incredibly hot! Payton was such a trooper in the heat and being off her schedule! Our friends Keith , Kristin and there little peanut Conner came with us. We had a great time and spent a lot of time in the Monkey House! We cannot wait to make our next trip back! BTW our little girl is  seven months in these pictures! Payton is not such a little girl anymore. I catch her in the mornings when i wake her up on all fours and rocking back and forth. Any day now I know she is gonna be on the move! She LOVES standing up and she is feeding herself by holding her own bottle now! I cannot believe how fast it is all going! I think she is the most beautiful, smartest, sweetest, wonderful demeanor baby! We just could not imagine life without her!

6 Month Check-Up

So yes Payton's mom is a baby herself! This would have been the first doc visit that I would have had to do by myself since our peanut was born. Which is so not a big deal but she had to get another round of 4 shots and 1 oral immunization. Luckily Grandma Kerruish was off from work and very kindly gave up some time to come with us! Again Payton took her shots like a champ. drum roll please..........
Payton weighed in at 19 pounds 13 ounces! No wonder Zack and I just could not muster keeping her in her carrier/car seat anymore. Payton has now switched to a big girl car seat and can sit up fine in shopping carts to go shopping with mommy. I cannot believe how grown-up she is getting already. I already almost had a mommy sappy breakdown because she is over me rocking and cuddling her. She loves to have all limbs free and moving. Before the nurse even took Payton's length she already had commented "Oh your gonna be a long girl!" Her length is 28 inches long! Our little peanut is in the 95th% of weight and 97th% of height!
PERFECT PROPORTION!
That is just what she is , nothing short of perfect in her mommy and daddy's eyes.
Payton is a good sleeper at night and we for sure got nap times to 2 naps a day for give or take 2 hours.
she is very serious at times just taking EVERYTHING in and then can be really smiley and giggly!
Payton also has a way of raising one eyebrow at you ( which her mommy can't even do) while you are talking to her almost to say "what are you talking about lady!".
I love my little girl and can't get enough of her.

Payton's Dedication 5/8/2011, Happy Mother's Day

My lovely Daughter was dedicated and our church , Christ Community Church, on Mother's Day! It was the best Mother's Day present I could ask for!

"To all who received him...he gave the right to become children
of God." (John 1:12)

Zack and I as Payton's parents and the congregation of our church  vowed to raise Payton in a christian household. To do our best to be examples of great faith and to put God first in our lives.
Zack and I are excited to share the gospel with her and we know that she is our little blessing from God.
We started the day at church and we had brunch back at our house with close friends and family! It was a great Mother's Day and Zack and I are so grateful  to have such wonderful people in our lives.
Thank you all for being so loving, caring, and such great support.
Payton is so blessed to have so many amazing people in her life.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise
you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm139:13-14)

Six Month Photo Shoot

We love getting our peanuts pictures done by our favorite photographer Julie! So when it was time for pictures again we called her up! This time was really fun because we did the shoot with my sister and her family also.We were really excited to get a couple cousins shots. Payton and Bel spend a lot of time at "YaYa's" house during the week and love each other! Payton thinks Bel is just so interesting and keeps her eyes off of her ,and Bel thinks Payton is so funny and laughs with her all the time. The day was a bit chilly, Payton was not smiley at all. and poor Bel was getting over a sickness. Needless to say my sister and I were pretty sure we weren't gonna get good shots. I have no idea why we would even second guess Julie's talent. She pulled out beautiful shots once again. Thank you Julie ... you are AMAZING! here are just a few....

Five Months!

So yes I know that I am not winning Mother of the Year award. I am literally posting about Payton at 5 months and she will be 6 months in a few more days. I am still getting the hang of balancing mommy life and working life. I think I got the hang of it but now I am lagging on updating this blog! LOL I absolutely cannot believe how fast little Payton is growing now!Payton is more and more interested in EVERYTHING. Always intensely looking around and taking as much as she can in. She loves bouncing in her exercauser and fiddling with her giraffe stuffed animal. She is completely entertained by her cousin Bel !We laugh because we don't think her legs ever stop moving. It doesn't matter if she is laying on the ground, sitting on your lap, or being held those legs are going a mile a minute."Ya Ya" ( my mom) says she is just like her mommy and daddy always on the go. Our little peanuts hair is really starting to grown in and I love the one little piece on her sweet head that always wants to stick straight up!Payton has accomplished getting all her first taste of veggies. She is a BIG fan of sweet potatoes. We are now giving her first tastes of fruits.Of course she is a fan of what we have tried so far because they are nice and sweet.Since we have started the whole solid feeding I was worried about how much to give and how much formula she should be in taking. Last time we went to the doctor they gave us a chart of recommended servings and formula they should be taking in. When I came to pick up Payton after work from my moms house one night I was worried because they were recommending to drop a bottle soon and I knew that I wanted to try to also drop a nap soon(.pk was still taking 3 short naps during the day). It all seemed like so much to mess around with on her and I was so worried she wouldn't do well with it. My mom pep talked me and said we will take one thing at a time. I swear my daughter heard everything and just wanted to put her mom at ease. The very next day ,on her own, she decided to drop a bottle. She was just fine with it! Within a week she was down to two longer naps during the day. We have honestly been blessed with an angel for a daughter. Her personality is just getting bigger and bigger everyday. We get to hear her belly laughs a lot more these days and I could just live off of those alone. Now that the weather has warmed up a bit we have gotten to take Payton on walks around the neighborhood in her stroller. She seems to really like it,looking around at everything and hearing new noises. Little Payton started of 5 months by accomplishing rolling from her back to her tummy, by mid month( April 12th) she was sitting up completely on her own, and by months end (April 19th) she has cut her very first tooth! I cannot believe how fast it is all happening. I could not be happier and prouder for my little nugget.

rock and ROLL!!!

March 26th marked a new era for our little peanut! She spent the day with Grandma Kerruish and showed of a new trick! At 5 months and 3 days old Payton decided to roll from her back to her tummy! What a big girl! I got the call while I was at work( a saturday) from Zack to tell me. Part of me couldn't believe it! I had to see it for myself. Zack and I were going out that night for a suprise birthday party for a good friend so by the time I got home from work poor Payton had a small window of time to show her mama what she could do( she decided to make mommy wait). Payton had her very first over night with Grandma Kerruish that night but boy oh boy the next day when we brought her home she did not hold back. Rolling is all she wanted to do! She would roll to her tummy and then get kinda frustrated because she wanted to figure out how to back on her back!I love my little peanut and cannot believe how big she is getting. EVERYDAY somthing new!
