15 WEEKS!

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. (baby center)
I am excited to go to the doc office next week. Zack was not able to come for our 12 week appt, so he is excited to go this time and hear the baby's heartbeat. Plus I love when my hubby is there with me. A. He always makes me laugh when we are waiting for an hour or so for our scheduled appt. lol and B. I love seeing his face light up when we get news about the baby. I know he is going to be just as amazed as I was about hearing the heartbeat. Zack is a trooper and has started our To Do list before the baby comes. He is resurfacing the fireplace and it looks amazing so far. More after our doc appt. next week!

14 WEEKS

Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches -- about the size of a lemon -- and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
So happy I am at  the second trimester! I was trying to think the other day if I have felt like I have had any real strong cravings. I haven't had a Strong craving for any one certain thing. I have spent a week eating nothing but cereal followed by a week of just wanting to eat a lot PB&J sandwiches, and so forth. I will say anybody that knows me knows that I have always been able to turn down sweets. I never really went for them until now. Now I really like to at least have one piece of chocolate a day. I don't know how much of that is for the actual sweet or my body missing all the caffeine it used to get, LOL. Either or I am glad I have a little lemon now and can't believe how fast our little one is growing.

A trip to see our Poppy

Zack and I took a short trip up to Wisconsin to check up on Poppy. Poppy was scheduled for a surgery in Madison, Wisconsin to try to remove the cancer that they had found in his Esophagus. Unfortunately they found that his heart rate is high and will now make him go thru and pass a stress test before he will be cleared for surgery. We decided it was time to get up there to visit him. Maybe hoping to lift his spirits a bit and let him know we love him with all our hearts! I was very excited because not only did we get to visit Poppy, Eric, Beth, and Jacob. I finally got to visit Poppy's house in Winneconne and Eric, Beth, and Jacob's in Omro, WI. Poppy still seems in high spirits and is determined to get the surgery done and recover as fast as he can.  Please keep him and our family in your prayers. Many thanks to Eric and Beth for letting Zack and I crash at your house, and we can't wait to make it up again. As a side note: Happy Birthday Brosif! I hope you had a great birthday weekend Nick. your little niece or nephew can't wait to meet you!

13 Weeks!

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head -- which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed .
So excited that we are heading into the second trimester! I guess Zack and I are starting our nesting faze , because we completely cleaned out the spare bedroom to make room for baby! That job seemed so overwhelming to me and I had no desire to even look at the room. My husband always has a way of making a huge job seem like nothing. I am so glad we work well together , because we BOTH love getting into pretty big projects. LOL. Any who, the spare bedroom is ready to be turned into a fun nursery. Now I just have to get my butt in gear and find furniture and bedding I like!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!

                                                Happy Two Year Anniversary !
I can't believe it has been two years already! I love my hunny more and more everyday. I cannot imagine my life without him , and I am so glad he chose me to spend the rest of his life with. Zack and I grew up in the same neighborhood literally a couple of blocks away from each other. Our families went to the same church and our siblings( who are the same exact age) new each other. Zack and I always attended the same schools from kindergarten to seniors in High school. We were always acquaintances and always said polite "hello's". During our early 20's we ran into each other a couple times at the local bar " Were everybody knows your name". The first time I was with my sister and best friend. All three of us saw Zack and thought he was such a cutie. My sister ( the matchmaker) has always known that Zack was such an amazing guy she was trying to hook him up with my best friend, who was going through a tremendously hard break-up. My girlfriend Mallory loves Zack but has never been attracted to him in that way and lets just say Zack AND Mallory  both laughed it off. That night is when Zack really caught my eye, but unfortunately I was in a doomed relationship at the time. Just about six months later there we were at the bar once again, I am a newly single lady, and I spot him. I decide to see if I still got it and walk over to him to bat my eye and make small talk. Zack on the other hand said a quick hi , turned his back, and continued to talk to his friends. My ego was bruised! BUT......... by the end of the night we were talking and two peas in a pod. Since that night up until now ( three and a half years later) we have been together or talked every night! I love him with all my heart and can't believe I have been so lucky. Zack has been an answer to  my prayers and I can't wait for the rest of our lives! For our anniversary Zack surprised me and took me to one of my favorite restaurants ( Carluccis). It is a great Italian Steakhouse. If that wasn't surprise enough after dinner he made me close my eyes and put a little square box in my hands!Zack got me another diamond band to go with my wedding band and engagement ring. I have two bands now for two years. He spoils me way to much! Cannot thank him enough for the wonderful evening! Here is to another year!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today we celebrated my dad's birthday one day early! My dad barbecued some yummy steaks for all of us and we had some good family time! I love my father with all my heart. He has been an amazing male figure in my life. This man has the hugest heart and would lay down his life for even a stranger (not over exaggerating, he is a retired Elgin police officer). My father has taught me many things. Obviously, being a police officer, first and foremost he taught me right from wrong. But he has taught me sacrifice, true unconditional love, and what a god fearing leader of a household should look like. I love you daddums like the whole world plus stop signs, and i can't wait for your new little grand baby to meet you. Anybody who talks to you falls in love with you! And that we know for sure cause you never have a problem even talking to a rock! LOL! kisses and hugs! Celebrating another year to an amazing man! here is to you pops!

12 weeks!

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
I went to the doctors office today and was able to hear our baby's heart beat. It was so cool. The heart beat was around 170 again and the doctor said that she was surprised to hear how strong it sounded. She said usually she doesn't hear it that strong until 16 weeks. Doc said the heart beat sounds so strong because mommy and baby are really healthy. My sister will tell you different though! Annie has been telling me that I am about 4 weeks further then what the doctors think! LOL, she says she is calling their bluff! I am really looking forward to our 20 week visit because we will be able to find out by then if we are having a girl or boy. Needless to say I am pretty sure that me and Zack still have not agreed on one baby name, weather it be girls or boys names. I am feeling more energy day by day and my crazy breakouts I think are on the outs! Very excited for that! This Monday April, 26th me and my AWESOME husband will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary and my fathers birthday. Very excited to enjoy the weekend of celebration!
